Author Fees and Waiver Policy
Author Fees and Waiver Policy
Jurnal Arbitrer is committed to maintaining fair, transparent, and ethical publishing practices aligned with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We believe that financial considerations should never be a barrier to the dissemination of high-quality research, and we are transparent about our publication fees and waiver options.
Author Fees
Jurnal Arbitrer charges the following fees to support the cost of peer review management, editorial processing, website maintenance, archiving, and open access dissemination:
-
Article Processing Charge (APC): USD 300 per accepted manuscript.
-
Submission Fee: No submission fee is charged; authors are only charged if their article is accepted for publication.
-
Additional Charges: No additional charges are applied for color figures, supplementary materials, or data files.
These fees help sustain the journal’s high publishing standards and maintain full open access for readers.
Fee Transparency
In line with COPE guidelines, Jurnal Arbitrer guarantees that:
-
Editors and reviewers do not have access to any author payment information during the review process, ensuring that editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit.
-
Payment of fees does not influence editorial acceptance decisions, which are determined exclusively through rigorous peer review and editorial judgment.
Waiver and Discount Policy
Jurnal Arbitrer supports inclusivity and equitable access by offering fee waivers or discounts to authors who face genuine financial constraints.
Eligible waiver categories include:
-
Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank.
-
Authors who can demonstrate lack of institutional or grant funding.
-
Early-career researchers or independent scholars without formal financial backing.
-
Special cases, such as invited articles, editorial contributions, or manuscripts of significant public importance (evaluated case by case by the editorial board).
To request a waiver or discount, authors should:
-
Submit a waiver request letter during the manuscript submission process, explaining their circumstances and providing any supporting documentation.
-
Address the letter to the Editor-in-Chief at arbitrer@hum.unand.ac.id.
-
Understand that waivers are granted at the sole discretion of the editorial office and are assessed independently of manuscript acceptance decisions.
Ethical Standards and Editorial Independence
Jurnal Arbitrer upholds the COPE principle that editorial decisions must never be influenced by the ability or inability to pay publication fees. Authors, reviewers, and editors are assured that all manuscripts are assessed strictly on scholarly quality, originality, and relevance.
We are committed to maintaining transparent, fair, and accessible publication pathways for all researchers, regardless of financial circumstances.
